Based on Australian Rules Football, footyWILD is a school-based sport-for-development initiative providing structured physical activity, healthy lifestyle education and youth development opportunities for boys and girls aged 6-18 (Grades R-12).

Through footyWILD, AFL South Africa has demonstrated the capacity to deliver and all-inclusive program at scale, providing tangible outcomes in mass participation, gender equality, education and health, where it is needed most.

In 2025, 37,249 learners participated in the footyWILD program across the North West province. 51% of them were girls.

Seventy (70) primary and secondary schools were involved with hundreds of teachers engaged in delivering  a program aligned to the Life Orientation curriculum.
